A year after the publication of the “Consensus Statement on actions needed from the EU to achieve ending AIDS and HIV as a public health threat by 2030″, key stakeholders came together to assess developments and explore new opportunities with the European Commission. 27 organizations have since endorsed the call for urgent action on HIV in the EU, underscoring the collective push for sustained focus on the issue.

While the Commission has prioritized Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), the critical need for concrete actions on HIV remains. The meeting aimed to revitalize the MEP HIV Working Group, align on policy priorities, and ensure HIV stays central to EU health policy in line with the UNAIDS 2030 goals.
