Hon. Ricardo Baptista Leite, UNITE’s President and Founder was part of a panel of speakers in a session on The World Economic Forum, titled “The Future of Health: Unlocking the power of data to improve urban health”.
Hon. Ricardo stated that “We have a misconception of what we call health systems. At the end of the day, we have disease systems, we have systems that have been built and have incentives embedded within them that actually drive more disease. And we have to break the cycle. (…) We have to get away from the industrialized model towards a model that is focused more on health outcomes. And so we can lower the burden of disease and refocus on increasing quality of life and well-being.”
