The ‘Healthy Lives: The Power of the EU’s Investments in Global Health’ exhibition at the European Parliament showcased how sustained EU funding drives innovation, strengthens health systems, and saves lives worldwide. Through powerful photography, the exhibition told the stories of those at the heart of these efforts: the changemakers driving progress and transforming communities through access to healthcare.
UNITE’s President and Founder, Dr. Ricardo Baptista Leite, engaged with MEPs and civil society to emphasize the urgent need for continued investment in global health, ensuring long-term impact and resilience in vulnerable communities.
For over 20 years, The Global Fund has reduced AIDS, TB, and malaria deaths by 63% in supported countries, and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, has helped immunize over a billion children. These achievements are only possible with the leadership of parliamentarians, whose advocacy keeps global health a priority. Their continued commitment is key to securing future investments and strengthening health systems worldwide. For more information on the exhibition, consult the booklet.
