On June 19, UNITE’s regional Chapter for Latin America and the Caribbean organized an exchange of legislative experiences between two of its members – Hon. Miguel Costa Matos, from Portugal and Hon. Esteban Paulón, from Argentina and his team.
The proposal was to support the legislative work of Hon. Esteban Paulón, who is currently preparing a bill with his team to ban the so-called ‘conversion therapies’ for LGBT+ people in Argentina. Hon. Costa Matos, author of the recently enacted law in the Portuguese Parliament on this topic – Bill 15/2024, January 29, 2024 – answered technical questions from Hon. Paulón’s team and offered his valuable perspective and experience in the field.
