UNITE gathered over 50 parliamentarians and key experts in Global Health in Berlin for the 4th edition of the UNITE Global Summit

UNITE proudly brought together over 250 participants, including more than 50 parliamentarians from around 45 countries, and more than 20 partner organizations, for a full day of engagements at the UNITE Global Summit 2024.

Over 70 speakers contributed to 12 different sessions, fostering connections between parliamentarians and key stakeholders in global health to forge new and meaningful partnerships.

This edition of our flagship event highlighted the topic of “Building Trust for Global Health: Parliamentarians’ Leadership for Change”, recognizing that public confidence in political institutions is essential for effective health policy.

The event launched with an Opening Dinner at the German Bundestag, featuring high-level speakers, followed by a full day of discussions that included 4 Keynote Speeches and 8 Parliamentary Inquiries addressing the most pressing topics in global health.

UNITE aims to keep the momentum created by the debates held at the UNITE Global Summit. With this in mind, we will soon release our official report, highlighting the key take aways from each Parliamentary Inquiry, with the main objective of continuing the discussions on how we can generate concrete political change for global health, by expanding the synergy between partners and parliamentarians.

A moment to highlight during the UNITE Global Summit 2024 was the signature of a statement, by our President, Global Board Members and other parliamentarians, in support of the Pandemic Agreement, and in collaboration with the World Health Organization.

This action underscored parliamentarians’ commitment to strengthen pandemic preparednessresponse, and equitable access to health, and was welcomed by the WHO Director-General.

By signing this statement, parliamentarians from around the world are showing their commitment to protecting lives from future pandemics and ensuring equitable access to vaccines, treatments, diagnostics and other health tools for every country, particularly those with fewer resources.

– Hon. Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus,
WHO Director-General
