The workshop aimed to advance UHC goals focusing on better use of digital tools and health data to help attain better health outcomes. It incorporated discussions on the main opportunities associated with digital health, key challenges that need to be addressed, and importantly highlighted the lessons learned from their experience as parliamentarians in their countries.
The outcome from the workshops will contribute to a paper that describes the opportunities, risks, barriers, and practical actions that will strengthen the digital and data foundations of health systems to achieve UHC. This paper will be shared with the UHC2030 Secretariat, hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO), as they develop their forward-looking plans for the achievement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
