How can parliamentarians better understand their country’s current state of UHC

UHC2030 has recently released the “State of UHC: a step-by-step guide for the country profile dashboard”, a document that intends to guide its target audience, which ranges from Governments to members of the public, in analyzing and understanding each country’s current achievement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

The country profile dashboard provides information about each country’s UHC commitments, which includes an overview of its current progress, points any institutional efforts being implemented by each Government, as well as presents an update of priority services and public perception, amongst other very detailed data.

For Parliamentarians, this tool comes as very pertinent to identify any gaps in UHC commitments that can later be translated into advocacy and policy actions to hold their governments accountable, or to take others countries with similar profiles as examples, to ensure their countries are  developing the necessary work to provide full continuum of essential health services to their citizens.

This step-by-step guide also includes case studies on specific countries, to exemplify how users can best navigate this online platform, and extract the most relevant data according to individual realities.
